We go for good brisk walks, usually along well-defined paths and lasting from one and a half to two hours with a cup of tea and a chat, either after the walk or midway, depending on the route.
Some paths can be quite muddy, especially in the winter months. We walk all year round on Thursday afternoons including the last Thursday of each month. (This is a change from our earlier programme which excluded the last Thursday). An advance provisional list of suggested walks is circulated and weekly notice giving the walk and leader details is sent to all members.
The walks are usually in the North Down area to avoid longer travel. There are occasional walks further afield to a scenic area e.g. Belvoir or Cregagh Glen. Sturdy shoes/boots are recommended.
