This group is ideal for both those who love to travel and for those who simply enjoy learning about new countries. From the comfort of your armchair you can travel the world and explore or revisit the landscapes and cultures of worlds very different from our own. The group collectively select a travel book and off we go. An agreed number of chapters are read every three weeks before the group meet up (via Zoom) to discuss the places they have visited – all without the need to pack a bag, hang around an airport or worry about whether or not they have locked the back door!
We encourage members to share their own memories of any of the destinations they may have visited which can only add to the experience of those of us who may not. We are also happy for members to independently research an aspect of a place that particularly interested them with the view to sharing this with other members.
Members also meet at Coffee Cure, Rathmore Road, Bangor, as and when arranged.
