Books are chosed by majority vote from a list of books easily accessible from the public library. Most are recent publications although not necessarily best sellers; the remainder are old and modern classics. Discussion is wide-ranging, often thought-provoking, and always interesting and enjoyable.
We are a very small group at present and would welcome new members when activities resume.

The group explores a play chosen by members, not reading it line by line or acting it out, but trying to understand its form, meaning, characters etc.
At the same time, aspects of the social, intellectual and political backgrounds to Shakespearean times are examined.
No expertise is needed, but would be welcome. There are some places available.
